Great Fly Fishing Guides

A friend suggested the Tackle Shop for a guide and we were really pleased. Booking it was a breeze, and we bought our fishing license at the shop which made the whole thing very easy. The shop has a nice selection and is a lot nicer than some of the tackle shops I’ve seen. John was our guide and he was excellent. I’m a bit of a novice but my hubby is pretty good. John was able to easily adapt to help both us immensely. I highly recommend it.

How did I never go here before?

I’ll be honest, I’m not a fly shop guy. Most shops make me feel uncomfortable or pressured. Maybe it’s because before shop guys get to know me a bit they give advice that isn’t quite my fishing style. I’m sure it’s me, but there’s two shops that I’ve come to love going to and one is the tackle shop. I’ve been fishing the ennis area for about 10 years now and never really went into the tackle shop until recently. Before giving me advice, Riley took the time to understand how I like to fish to tailor advice for me that would be productive but also enjoyable for me. There’s no gate keeping, no secrets, no pretension or arrogance. I can’t express the relief to have a shop on both ends of the Madison now. 10/10 would recommend
